Scala House

Scala House is a celebration of bespoke Mediterranean architecture set within the relaxed rhythm of Mount Martha’s coastal landscape, just moments from the sands of South Beach. Designed by Wolveridge Architects and built by Ongarello, the home balances sculptural curves with a restrained material palette, drawing on globally sourced textures to create a sense of quiet luxury. A boundary wall and lush subtropical planting gently separate the house from the street, allowing the experience of Scala House to unfold privately and progressively. Inside, sweeping lines and generous proportions create a feeling of openness, anchored by warm, tactile finishes. The heart of the home centres on the open-plan kitchen and living space, where Patagonian Quartzite stonework leads the eye through iron-detailed arches to a resort-like outdoor zone featuring a pool, paddle area, integrated spa and outdoor shower. A considered single-level layout provides a secluded primary bedroom wing alongside three additional bedrooms with custom joinery, while an enclosed pool house with bar fridges offers a shaded retreat for long summer days, seamlessly extending the home’s holiday-inspired lifestyle.
